Lafayette, LA  – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have awarded a grant in the amount of $722,816 to the Lafayette Regional Airport.  Funding from the grant will go towards improving the runway safety areas by bringing them into conformance with FAA standards.

 

“As a frequent traveler at Lafayette Regional Airport, I know how committed the entire staff is to the safety and security of all air passengers,” said Boustany.  “They will now benefit greatly from this funding, which will significantly enhance the safety of aircraft coming in and out of the airport.”
