Lafayette, LA - U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded a grant in the amount of $104,020 to the Ward 7 Volunteer Fire Department in Vinton.  The grant is funded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP) and will go towards an operations and firefighter safety program.

 

“This grant for the Vinton Volunteer Fire Department will benefit the devoted volunteer firefighters in Vinton as they work to upgrade their training and equipment,” said Boustany.

 

Operations and Firefighter Safety Programs includes training, equipment, personal protective equipment, wellness and fitness, and modifications to fire stations and facilities.
