Lafayette, LA – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. today commended the Senate for passing the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (S. 3711).  It follows passage of a more comprehensive bill approved by the House of Representatives on June 29.  Boustany issued the following statement: 

 

“Today’s action by the Senate sets the stage for Louisiana to finally secure its fair share of offshore royalties.  Once the bill moves to conference, it is my hope that our entire delegation will remain united in our efforts to produce a bill that will ultimately allow Louisiana to protect itself from future disasters.”
