Christensen Disappointed in Lack of Information
At Completion of St. John Investigation

(St.Croix, VI, September 15, 2006) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen said today that she was extremely disappointed at the lack of information given to the public today by the Department of Justice at the completion of the investigation of the St. John case.

"The press release created more questions than it answered, and so I am not sure we moved any real distance from where we started. As a community we are going to work very hard and reach for out better selves, while continuing our relentless pursuit of truth if we are to have any closure on this sad incident,” said the Delegate.

Christensen also criticized the manner in which the information was released.  “We hoped that there would be a Justice Department/FBI press conference that would allow members of the press to ask the relevant questions on behalf of the public.  This was a very sensitive issue and it has not been handled very well from the beginning,” she said.

Delegate Christensen said that she would file for more information under the Freedom of Information Act.  “I expect that all except the information protecting the alleged victim’s privacy, can be made available to the public.”
