Bernie was on the road Saturday holding three town meetings on senior issues. (4/22/2006)

Bernie travelled the length of Vermont this past weekend making stops in Burlington, Rutland, and Bennington where he met with local residents to discuss senior issues. He was joined at all three town meetings by Barbara Kennelly, President of the National Committee to Protect Social Security and Medicare. Barbara is also a former Congresswoman from Connecticut who served her district for seven terms (Pic 1, 2nd from left).

Also speaking at the meetings were:

  • Greg Marchildon (Pic 1, 1st from left), the Director of the VT AARP, joining him in Burlington and Rutland.
  • Dolly Fleming (Pic 1, 4th from left)the executive Director of Community of Vermont Elders (COVE) joined him in Burlington.
  • John Barbour (Pic 1, 5th from left), Executive Director of the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging spoke in Burlington.
  • Diane Novack (Pic 6 & 7, 4th from left), Executive Director of the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging, spoke in Rutland.
  • Mary Kirkpatrick (Pic 8-9, 3rd from left), a Bennington area senior advocate, joined him in Bennington.
