Medicare Prescription Drug Open Enrollment
November 15 - December 31, 2006
You may sign up from November 15, 2006 to December 31, 2006. Your coverage will start January 1, 2007. If you don't sign up when you are first eligible, you may pay a penalty. Note on Social Security Fairness Act -
On September 29th, Congressman Lipinski signed the discharge petition that would provide for the consideration of H.R. 147, the Social Security Fairness Act; a bill that Congressman Lipinski is a cosponsor of. In enacted, H.R. 147 would amend title II of the Social Security Act to repeal the government pension offset (GPO) and windfall elimination provisions (WEP), thus this legislation would provide fairer benefits for Social Security recipients.
Railroad safety in Chicago area could be improved. Railroad crossings in the Chicago area are about to become safer and much more efficient. It's the first step in a $1.5 billion plan to improve the rail system throughout Illinois.
