Carolyn McCarthy Presents $163,865 Grant to Rockville Centre Fire Department
Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy presents a check for $163,865 to (from left to right) Chief Mark Murray, Chief Michael Lapkowski, and Chief Peter Grandazza of the Rockville Centre Fire Department. Rockville Centre was awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Fire Department used these funds towards the purchase of new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Carolyn McCarthy Presents $360,000 Grant to Baldwin Fire Department
Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy presents a check for $360,000 to (from left to right) Jerry Brown, Mike McDermott, Bill St. George, Robert Quackenbush, Frank Esposito, Doug Wiedmann, Todd Esposito, and Ed Mullen of the Baldwin Fire Department. The Department was awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Fire Department used these funds towards the purchase of new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Currently, some Baldwin firefighters use SCBA units that are more than 20 years old.

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy presents a check for $100,976 to members of the Stewart Manor Fire Department. Stewart Manor was awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Fire Department used these funds towards the purchase of new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Prior to the grant, some Stewart Manor firefighters used SCBA units that are more than 15 years old.
Carolyn McCarthy Visits Baldwin School District to Celebrate Mentoring
Congresswoman McCarthy visited the Baldwin School District to recognize the district for its exemplary work in creating a mentoring program that pairs students with teachers, business people from State Farm Insurance Companies and community volunteers in an innovative partnership to bring caring adults into the lives of children and youth.
