Sussex
County is popular for its charming beach resorts
and historic riverside villages. Cultural experiences
are unique to Southern Delaware and offer a wide variety
of annual activities.
Sussex County is home to Delaware's largest state park,
Cape Henlopen State Park (www.destateparks.com),
which lies along the Atlantic Ocean and also to Prime
Hook National Wildlife Refuge, a 10,000-acre refuge
for wildlife.
For family fun visit Funland
on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. Children love the amusement
park, which offers rides, skee ball and a variety of
arcade and video games.
The Marvel Carriage
Museum, located in Georgetown, offers an antique
collection of horse-drawn carriages and wagons, along
with collections of items from home and farm life.
Every two years in Georgetown, "The Circle"
is the center of Return Day activities, an event celebrated
on the Thursday after the General Election in November.
Return Day is highlighted by a parade, the reading of
election results from the Courthouse tower, and the
"burying of the hatchet."
Visitors to the Indian River Life-Saving Station are introduced to one of the oldest life-saving stations
in the country that is now beautifully restored to the
1905 time period.

Outlets.
140 manufacturers are located in the Outlets' three
centers, located along a 2-mile stretch of Highway One.
Sussex County has an abundance of activities for all
to enjoy. Be it whale watching, attending the annual
jazz festival, or visiting one of the many historic
museums, all are sure to take pleasure in southern Delaware.
