Rep. Cardin Places Ravens Wager on Super Bowl with Giants Rep. Rothman, N.J.

BALTIMORE – In the spirit of the Super Bowl XXXV, Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin, whose Congressional District includes PSInet Stadium, has put his "home town brew" where his heart is – on a win by the Ravens. Rep. Cardin has placed a wager on who will win the Super Bowl on Jan. 28 with Rep. Steve Rothman, the New Jersey Congressman whose district includes Giants Stadium in Meadowland. Giants Stadium is the home of the NFC champion New York Giants.

The Maryland Congressman has wagered a selection of Baltimore's finest microbrews against ethnic delicacies from Rep. Rothman's New Jersey district (cannoli; kielbasa; kimchi; knish; paella; tandoor chicken, and a pint of Guinness). Rep. Cardin has already won barbecue beef from Rep. John Tanner of Tennessee in an earlier wager on the playoffs.

"The Ravens defense is the original immovable force, so I am looking forward to watching the Ravens victory parade while I drink my pint of Guinness and eat what I know will be a delicious array of ethnic food from New Jersey. It will go nicely with the barbecue from Tennessee," said Rep. Cardin.
