Senator Santorum Denounces Iranian President’s Comments Regarding Israel
October 20, 2006
Philadelphia, PA – U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today issued the following statement:
“The most recent comments made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad implying that Israel is a ‘fake regime’ and that the country will soon ‘disappear’ are outrageous. This is yet another example that the Government of Iran harbors a deep hatred for Israel and the Jewish people. President Ahmadinejad’s latest tirade, combined with past statements he made about the United States, is a clear indication that the Government of Iran is a threat to America, our allies, and to the stability of the international community. I condemn these misguided statements and urge leaders of other nations around the world to express similar disapproval for these remarks.”
