Service Academy Nominations
Each year, Rep. Campbell nominates outstanding high school graduates from the 48th Congressional District of California for consideration for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.
The selection process is competitive and is based on scholastic and academic records, extracurricular activities, leadership traits, motivation and aptitude for military service. All applicants will be interviewed by the 48th Congressional District Academy Review Board.
Nominations are open to residents of the 48th Congressional District who are at least 17, but less than 23 years of age by July 1 of the year of admission. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and unmarried, with no dependents.
Those interested in obtaining a nomination may begin the process in the spring proceeding the year in which they wish to attend the academy. Please print and fill out the Application for Nomination and Checklist. Completed applications must be received at the address below, by November 1, 2006.
