Oakland, CA – Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) announced today that the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBSF) is awarding $2.63 million for seven projects in the 9th Congressional District through its 2003 Affordable Housing Program (AHP). Overall, FHLBSF is giving $43 million in grants for affordable housing units in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, and Nevada.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) today called on Republicans in the House of Representatives to extend unemployment benefits before the House adjourns for the year. Under current law, unemployment benefits will expire at the end of the month, when Congress is not in session, so both the House and the Senate must act now to extend benefits to 4.6 million unemployed workers.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) celebrated the successful House passage of a bill late last night authorizing the creation of the first National Museum of African American History and Culture.
