About the First District
The First District is a region that is as diverse as it is historic. From the opening stages of the United States revolution for independence to the struggle for civil rights, the counties that comprise this region have seen great change and progress.
Additionally, the First District is home to a broad range of scenery and sights. Reaching from the eastern edges of the Piedmont to the coast of the Inner Banks, the First District offers a desirable environment for any individual. Scenic agrarian life coexisting with growing city centers, offering “big city” advances with the charm of “small town” living.
The people of the First District are our greatest asset. The Troops stationed in the First District keep our nation safe, the Doctors and Nurses that work in our first class health system keep our people healthy and strong, and our Business and Community Leaders ensure a productive future for the First District. We are fortunate to have some of the Nation’s best educators, farmers, and workers, all focused on preparing the best future for Eastern North Carolina.
