Pharmacy Providers: Emergency MMA Drug Supply Update – Effective September 2006, changes to the Emergency Drug Benefit for dual eligibles and revised billing instructions (updated November 3). eTAR Submission Guidelines – eTARs submitted for non-benefit services that do not require a TAR will reject and will need to be corrected. Institutional Crossover Claims NPI Error – COBC is implementing a Part A 837 crossover claim system fix. Institutional Crossover Claims Update – A system fix has been implemented to improve crossover claims processing. eTAR Available to More Providers – On October 2, 2006, the eTAR submission process was made available to 13 more provider types. IUD Investigation Underway – CDHS reviewing records of eight Southern California physicians. Medicare Part D – New prescription drug program effective January 1, 2006. Home and Community-Based Services Billing Changes – Effective for dates of service on or after November 1, 2006, CDHS will allow only HCPCS Level II codes and modifiers. Electronic Attachments for 837 Claims – 837 v.4010A1 claim attachments can now be submitted electronically. UPN Update – CDHS plans to implement the Medical Supply UPN Pilot in two phases. NPI Update – The NPI registration tool is now available. NDC Roundtable and Public Comment Forum – Providers are encouraged to provide feedback regarding National Drug Codes for upcoming roundtable discussion. Genetic Disease Counseling and Screening Services Billing Changes – Effective for dates of service on or after November 1, 2006, CDHS will only allow HCPCS Level II codes and modifiers.
