2006 featured Ginny's 4th annual congressional art competition, which brings together the best student artwork from across the 5th District and which in past years has featured a flight to Washington, D.C. as the top prize.  The winning entry will be hung, along with entries from other congressional districts throughout the country, in a corridor of the U.S. Capitol Building.  The winner will also be invited to attend the opening exhibit in Washington, D.C., with other winners from across the United States.

Winners of the 2006 Contest

The 2006 Congressional Art Competition has been completed, with three worthy young artists honored for their work at a ceremony in the Brooksville City Hall.  The names of the artists and description of their works or art are included below.  Please be sure to watch for inforamtion about thr 2007 competition early next year.

1st place:  Corey Crapser, son of James & Barbara Crapser of Lecanto.  His winning piece is entitled “Pepper Vase” and is in charcoal pencil.  He is a senior at Lecanto School of Art at Lecanto High School and his teacher is Connie Phillips.






2nd place:  Stacy DeLeon, daughter of LaNell Arnold of Zephyrhills.  Her work is entitled “Your Future” and in graphite.  She is a senior at Zephyrhills High School and her teacher is Debroah Gillars.







3rd place:  Stan Kruslicky, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Kruslicky of Homosassa.  His digital photograph is entitled “Golden Light”.  He is a senior at Lecanto School of Art at Lecanto High School and his teacher is Jack Calback.
