Mr. Brady reads to Ms Jenny Frisby's second grade class at Mauriceville Elementary in Orange County Texas. Sam Houston State political science majors traveled to Washington late last week to tour Washington, D.C. and visit with Congressman Kevin Brady. The students were traveling with a program known as Journeys with Sam, lead by fellow student Katie Granger.

Cpl. Kimberly Grimes with the Conroe ISD and Jennifer Contreras and Charles Key visit with Congressman Brady about the Police Athletic League program and their work with students in Conroe ISD. This organization offers kids leadership training for older students and for younger students after school and athletic activities. Congressman Brady attends July 4 festivities with wounded U.S. soldier from the Afghanistan front Kenny Adams.

Joined by other dignitaries, Congressman Brady participates in the renaming ceremony for the Houston Veterans Medical Center.  The hospital was named in honor of world renowned heart surgeon, Dr. Michael E. DeBakey.  The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston is one of the top hospitals in the nation.
