H.J.Res. 30
Summary:
Declaring that all persons shall enjoy the right to health care of equal high quality.
What does the bill do?
This Constitutional Amendment makes high quality health care a guaranteed right for all persons.
Why is this bill needed?
The U.S. is the only developed democracy without universal healthcare. There are 46 million people in this country living without health insurance. The U.S. spends 16 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on health care (more than any other country), but ranks a paltry 48th in the world in overall life expectancy.
Creating a constitutional right to health care will ensure all people get the health care services they need and deserve. Universal health care will lead to improved health, decreased costs, and improved productivity.
