Academy Nominations

As a member of Congress, I have the honor of nominating a select number of students to attend one of our military service academies. Students from the Thirteenth District interested in attending a service academy should contact Dan Crawford in my Raleigh office at (919) 836-1313.

Nominees for appointment to a military service academy are selected on a competitive basis, using criteria determined by the academies to be indicative of potential success as an:

Army Cadet
Navy Midshipman
Merchant Marine Midshipman
Air Force Cadet

Each candidate seeking a nomination must meet the following basic eligibility requirements as of July 1 of the year of entry to a service academy:

Age: At least 17 years old, but not 22 or older

Citizenship: A United States citizen

Marital Status: Unmarried, not pregnant, and have no legal obligation for support of a child or other dependents

Deadline: November 1, 2006

Please direct all mail correspondence to Rep. Miller's Raleigh District office. Mail sent to Washington, DC, is delayed for two to three weeks due to increased security precautions.
