An Artistic Discovery
2006 Congressional Art Competition
Rep. Brad Miller, 13th District, North Carolina

Competition Winners
Judges' Special Merit
Honorable Mention

Congratulations to the contest winners of the 25th Annual Congressional Art Competition, An Artistic Discovery! 65 works of art were entered from high school students across the 13th district.

This competition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the artistic talent of high school students within each Congressional district, acknowledging our nation's most gifted young artists.

Congressman Miller announced the 13th district's winners on May 20, 2006, at the North Carolina Museum of Art.

The first place entry "Snorkeling" by Caitlin Pardue of Athens Drive High School in Raleigh will hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year. Caitlin will be invited to Washington, D.C. for a reception in honor of the district winners from across the country on June 28.

Additionally, she will receive a $500 U.S. Savings Bond and be eligible for a $3000 renewable scholarship to Savannah School of Art and Design. Second through fourth place winners will have their work displayed in our Washington, Greensboro, and Raleigh offices.

Other contest award winners can be viewed at Judges' Special Merit and Honorable Mention.
