Chairman McCain has scheduled a hearing for 9:30am, September 14, 2006, on the nomination of Carl Artman to be Assistant Secretary—Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior.  Immediately following the hearing, the Committee will proceed to a business meeting to approve the nomination.

AGENDA


1.    Nomination of Carl J. Artman, to be Assistant Secretary–Indian Affairs, U. S. Department of the Interior.

2.    H.R. 854, a bill to provide for certain lands to be held in trust for the Utu Utu Gwaitu Paiute Tribe.

3.    S. 3648, the Pueblo of Isleta Settlement and Natural Resources Restoration Act of 2006.

4.    S. 3687, a bill to waive application of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act to a specific parcel of real property transferred by the United States to two Indian tribes in the State of Oregon, and for other purposes.
