CONGRESS ON THE ROAD: BLACKBURN HELPS LEAD BORDER SECURITY PUSH

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Representative Marsha Blackburn (TN-7th District) joined several other Members of Congress in San Diego to conduct a field hearing on border security and the illegal entry problem.

"Americans know we've got a serious border security problem," Blackburn said. "We want these hearings to make it clear that stopping illegal entry should be priority number one in this debate. We ought to first get illegal entry under control and after we've demonstrated results with that effort, then we can begin working to address the widespread employment of illegal aliens. It's my hope these hearings will encourage the Administration and some in the Senate to recognize that the House legislation will be more effective in tackling our illegal entry problem."

The hearing will take place at the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station and will feature U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials, local sheriffs, and border security experts.
