What information is collected about me automatically?
All Senate Sites:
The Senate servers which host the official Senate websites of all
Senators' offices collect certain information about visitors
automatically. This information is used to determine which items are
most accessed by constituents and also assist in determining technical
site design specifications, monitoring system performance and
identifying areas for upgrade or improvement. The information
automatically collected includes:
- domain name (example: aol.com if you access the Internet via America Online)
- the pages of the Senate site that you visit
- the date and time of your visit
- any link through which you came to the site
- further information about the Senate's privacy policies
Senator Santorum's Site:
- This site does not use a cookie and makes no attempt to track overall Internet usage of any visitor
- Individuals
who access this site are not personally identifiable unless they choose
to supply contact information on the webform
What happens to the information I put on the webform?
Information supplied in Senator Santorum's webform is used to respond
to your inquiry. Your name and address are used to verify that you are
a Pennsylvania constituent and, since I reply to email via U.S. mail at
this time, to reply to you.
On select occasions, you may receive an unsolicited mail item based on
previous correspondence to me. For example, constituents who wrote me
about veterans issues have at times received additional updates from me
related to issues of concern to veterans.
Your comments may also be quoted in speeches or otherwise be used in
debate before the United States Senate since the views and experiences
of our constituents play an important role as Senators make decisions
and casts votes about various issues.
If you email my office seeking personal assistance, your email may be
referred to government agencies as part of the resolution process.
