Committee on Appropriations

The House Appropriations Committee prepares the annual spending bills for Congress by allocating the budget among all government programs. The committee has 66 members and is divided into 10 subcommittees responsible for drafting legislation that distributes funding among the programs within its jurisdiction.

Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development

As a member of the Subcommittee on Energy and Water, Congressman Berry works with his colleagues to fund projects that improve the nation's water infrastructure, expand economic development in the Mississippi Delta region, and further research and technological improvements in our energy industry. The Subcommittee has jurisdiction over the Army Cops of Engineers, the Department of Energy, and the Delta Regional Authority.

Subcommittee on Homeland Security

As a member of the Subcommittee on Homeland Security, Congressman Berry works to improve our homeland defense by funding projects that better equip our first responders, empower our intelligence officials, and enable communities to prepare for natural disasters. The Subcommittee has jurisdiction over all programs in the Department of Homeland Security.

Task Force Memberships

Blue Dog Coalition, Health Care Task Force, Co-Chair

The Blue Dog Coalition is a group of 37 conservative and moderate Democrats who work to inject a moderate viewpoint in the Democrat Caucus. The Coalition is particularly active on fiscal issues and is constantly trying to pursue a balanced budget so that future generations are not saddled with trillions of dollars in national debt.
