DAN LUNGREN RETURNS TO CONGRESS

With a solid showing in the polls, Congressman Lungren will head back to Washington DC for a second term

(Carmichael, CA) - Surrounded by family and friends, Congressman Dan Lungren (R-Gold River), issued the following statement expressing his appreciation to supporters and well wishers for helping him win re-election to California’s third district.

“I would like to thank my wife Bobbi, my family, our friends and supporters for their assistance in making possible my return to the United States Congress. One does not win elections without the support of passionate, like minded individuals and I would not be here without your unwavering guidance and support.

“Returning to Congress, two years ago, I expressed my concern with the party drifting away from some of our basic conservative bench marks. We have to send a message to the citizens of this country that we have heard their voice and assure them we have not forsaken the core principles of the Republican Party.

“I remain firmly committed to protecting our country from those that wish to harm us, securing our borders, controlling spending and addressing the needs of the Third District.  There are tough issues that lay before the 110th Congress and I look forward to working with my colleagues across the aisle to find common sense solutions.

“In my first decade in the House of Representatives, the Republicans were in the minority. I know how to work in a bi-partisan manner to accomplish the greater good and I am optimistic Republicans and Democrats will engage in a mature and open debate to move our great country forward."
