September 27th, 2006 - Washington, D.C. - Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Vice-Chairman of the House Rules Committee, announced today that Miami-Dade County will receive an additional $1 million in Public Assistance grant funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for costs associated with repairing damage from wind and wind-driven rain to terminals and other buildings at the Port of Miami.
“These FEMA Public Assistance grant funds are important to South Florida’s recovery,” said Congressman Diaz-Balart. “I am pleased that these funds are available to help South Florida residents mitigate the impact from natural disasters,” concluded Diaz-Balart.
