The White House

Washington, D.C. provides a host of opportunities to New Hampshire residents to visit monuments and historic points of interest.  One of the most popular requests I receive from constituents is for information about tours of the White House.  Due to heightened security measures, public Tours of the White House are limited to School and Veterans Groups. Because of the demand for these tours, it is important that you contact my office at least two to three months in advance if you wish to take such a tour. These tours last approximately 40-60 minutes. In addition, these tours are subject to last-minute cancellation by the White House.

The U.S. Capitol Building

I can also arrange for constituents guided tours of the United States Capitol Building conducted by members of my staff.  My staff can accommodate tours of no more than 15. However, I can arrange for a public tour for groups consisting of up to 40 people. These groups should contact my office 2-3 months in advance. All tours operate Monday through Friday 10am - 4pm. They include points of interest such as the House and Senate Chambers, Statuary Hall, the Rotunda, the Old Senate Chamber, and special points of interest to New Hampshire. It is advisable that you contact my office in advance of your trip if you would like a Capitol tour.

Other Sites of Interest

Finally, my office is able to secure congressional passes for several other tours. Most of these tours are only offered Monday through Friday, and tend to fill up very early. These include tours of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Library of Congress, and the Kennedy Center. Therefore, as with the White House, you should contact my office at least two to three months in advance. I can also provide you information on public tours of these sites if you are unable to obtain special passes.

For information about any of these options available to you, please feel free to call my Tour Coordinator at (202) 225-5206.
