Teachers, check out NASA’s Personal Property surplus or available lab equipment from the Department of EnergyFree Computers may also be available to schools and non-profit groups through Computers for Learning.

Check out the NASA Research Center in your area or NASA’s Regional Education experts.  Arrange for your class to explore our nation’s energy research labs to get the latest on high tech energy research from DOE.

Professional organizations like the American Astronomical Society (AAS) or the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) also make experts available to schools and communities.  Contact the AAS at deustua@aas.org or NCAR at cschmidt@ucar.edu for more information.

U.S. Jobs Headed Overseas
in Steady Numbers

"Offshoring is moving up the technological food chain with more sophisticated jobs and facilities going overseas.  For workers this translates into flat job growth and stagnant wages, which is hard on American families and our communities.  We need to find ways for American workers to compete in the world economy without sacrificing their standard of living."

- Science Committee Ranking
Member Rep. Bart Gordon

Offshoring is a reality.  While many prefer to ignore the issue, U.S. jobs are being lost and U.S. workers are feeling the effects.

Science Democrats are working to bring the truth about offshoring to light.

A new study from the Government Accountability Office confirms that U.S. jobs continue to be moved "offshore" to lower wage environments.  This study comes on the heels of a report from the Technology Administration within the U.S. Department of Commerce that found much the same.

Read more about Democrats' efforts to curb this disturbing trend and protect the jobs of hard working Americans.
