Homeland Security Issues

The devastating terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, devastating have forced us to take stronger security measures over our borders, ports, government buildings, schools, power plants and roadways.  Last Congress, Joe Baca voted for the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. He believes that we must do everything in our power to ensure the safety of Americans.  It is Congressman Baca’s hope that The Department of Homeland Security will result in better protection of our citizens from future terrorist activity.

First Responders

During this time of war, and heightened homeland security threat, Congressman Baca realizes that it is imperative to provide First Responders with even more resources to combat terrorist activity.  He supports legislation introduced by Congressman Menendez (D-NJ) that reimburses state and local governments whose first responders have been militarily deployed and whose absence creates a hardship for law enforcement to comply with heightened homeland security measures.
