(River Edge, NJ) On Sunday, January 29, Rep. Steve Rothman joined the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation of Northern New Jersey for the organizations annual Super Sunday Phonathon to raise money for those in need.
Speaking to the more than 150 volunteers in the room, Rothman rallied volunteers to keep up the great work and then joined in the phone banking.
UJA NNJ uses the money donated during its annual campaign to fund kosher meals on wheels programs and nursing home care for seniors, provide services to over 900 individuals with disabilities throughout Northern New Jersey, and support Jewish education and identity programs.
In the last year, the group also responded to the crises in Southeast Asia after the Tsunami and the U.S. Gulf Coast after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
