The FTC enforces federal consumer protection laws that prevent fraud, deception and unfair business practices. The Commission also fields consumer complaints covering a wide variety of topics to include fraud, Internet auctions, identity theft, misleading advertising, credit cards and other consumer protection matters.

Each year I am privileged to have the opportunity to nominate outstanding young Virginians to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. During the President's 2002 State of the Union address, President George W. Bush called upon every American to dedicate at least two years over the course of their lives to the service of others. The USA Freedom Corps Volunteer Network is a comprehensive clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities.
