Federal Employee Open Season Symposium

October 02, 2006

Open Season for federal employees and retirees who may want to change health plans under the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) will be held from November 2006 through December 2006.

In an effort to assist the constituents of the Eleventh District who would like more detailed information on selecting the best health plan to meet their particular needs, I will be sponsoring a Federal Employee Health Benefits Symposium in conjunction with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).

This year s symposium will be held on Wednesday, November 29th, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Fairfax County Government Center.

The address is 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia.

The program will include speakers from OPM and NARFE, as well as Walt Francis, an author on federal employee issues who will provide an overview of the benefit packages offered under the Federal Employee Health Benefit system. In addition to the speakers, representatives from public and private health insurance carriers in the FEHBP will be available to answer questions about their individual health plans.

The information presented at the symposium should help each health plan subscriber make a more informed decision regarding the coverage that will best serve his or her individual health care needs in the coming year. If you should have any questions, please contact Ann Rust at 703-437-1726; however, pre-registration is not necessary to attend. I hope you will be able to attend the symposium, and I look forward to seeing you on November 29th.
