Thank you for your interest in applying for a nomination to a United States service academy. As a former Marine and a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I am always happy to learn of young people who are seriously interested in pursuing a career in the military service and who intend to build the foundation of that career with an education from one of our great academies. Each year it is an honor to nominate a select group of outstanding young Kansans for admission to the Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies.

NOMINATION PACKET:
Please request a nomination packet by filling out the online form or sending a brief letter requesting a packet to: Senator Pat Roberts, 155 N. Market St., Ste 120, Wichita, KS 67202.
REQUIREMENTS - ONCE PACKET IS RECEIVED:
1. Academy Application sheet which is included in the Nomination Packet.
2. Official school transcript sent from school counselor.
3. A detailed list of school, church, civic and extracurricular activities and any special honors you may have received.
4. ACT or SAT Scores.
5. Three letters of recommendation one of which must be from your high school counselor.
6. A recent photo.
7. Affidavit of legal permanent residence. (Form included in the Nomination Packet).
8. A 250-500 word essay detailing why you desire to attend the academy of your choice.
9. All applicants will be required to personally appear before Senator Roberts’ Academy Screening Board.
