If you are traveling to Washington D.C. and are interested in some of these services, you can submit a request via the Internet. Please access the following link. Congressman Lipinski's Tour Request Form Illinois Constituent Coffee Hour: The IL Senators, Dick Durbin and Barack Obama , invite all Illinoisans visiting Washington to join them on Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. when the Senate is in session for a "town hall meeting." Please contact Senator Durbin's office at (202) 224-2152 or Senator Obama's office at (202) 224-2854 the Wednesday before to find out the location of the coffee hour. Please review the following information about Congressional-sponsored tours.
White House: Currently, the White House is open to all visitors. Group White House tours are arranged through Congressman Lipinski's Washington office. Due to high demand and increased security, please provide at least four months advance notice. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee a White House tour.
U.S. Capitol: Located on Capitol Hill. Congressional tours are available through Congressman Lipinski's Washington office. Public tours are conducted Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lines for public tours form on the East side of the Capitolin front of the center Rotunda entrance. (202) 225-6827.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing: 14th and C Street, SW. See how currency and stamps are printed. Limited congressional tickets are available through Congressman Lipinski's Washington office with at least three months notice prior to tour dates. Public tours are only available Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., leaving every 15 minutes. Extended public tour hours are available during the months of June, July and August. You may contact the Bureau at (202) 874-3019 for further information on public tours.

Note on Social Security Fairness Act -
On September 29th, Congressman Lipinski signed the discharge petition that would provide for the consideration of H.R. 147, the Social Security Fairness Act; a bill that Congressman Lipinski is a cosponsor of. In enacted, H.R. 147 would amend title II of the Social Security Act to repeal the government pension offset (GPO) and windfall elimination provisions (WEP), thus this legislation would provide fairer benefits for Social Security recipients.
Railroad safety in Chicago area could be improved. Railroad crossings in the Chicago area are about to become safer and much more efficient. It's the first step in a $1.5 billion plan to improve the rail system throughout Illinois.
