Moran to Host Veterans' Forum in Northeast Kansas

Invites Area Veterans to Attend October Event in Junction City

JUNCTION CITY - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced he will host a forum for veterans next week in Junction City to discuss health care and benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Rajeez Trehan, Acting Director of the VA Medical Center in Topeka; Jim Gleisburg, VA Public Relations Director in Topeka and Leavenworth; and Barry Inman, Veterans Service Center Manager for the VA Regional Office in Wichita, will join Moran to hear the thoughts and concerns of veterans.

"I am looking forward to bringing representatives from the VA to Junction City to meet face-to-face with area veterans," Moran said. "Veterans in this strong military community have given much to our county, and this opportunity allows us to address their questions and concerns so that we do a better job of providing quality care and benefits."

This is the eighth forum on veterans' issues hosted by Moran. Previous forums have taken place in Marion, Cimarron, Sabetha, Salina, Clay Center, Goodland and Hutchinson. Moran is a member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee and has served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health.

"I am glad to see Congressman Moran is coming to Junction City," Jim Jensen, Geary County Sheriff and local veteran, said. "This will be a great way for us to voice our opinions to the Congressman and VA officials."

The event will be Wednesday, October 4, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the City Municipal Building, 700 Jefferson Street. Members of Moran's staff will be on hand along with representatives from the VA to handle any concerns that veterans or their families may have. All area veterans, as well as other members of the public are encouraged to attend.
