MORAN ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

FOR U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PAGE PROGRAM

Positions Available in Washington, D.C., for High School Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced he is accepting applications for the U.S. House of Representatives 2006 Summer Page Program.

The Page Program offers high school students entering or having just finished their junior year the unique opportunity to experience Congress in action and assist with official House duties. Pages work as a team delivering materials to Members' offices, preparing the Floor of the House of Representatives for sessions and answering phones in the Members' Cloakroom.

Students may participate in one of two summer sessions. The first session begins June 12 and ends June 30. The second session begins July 10 and ends July 28.

Students wishing to be a page must be at least 16 years old and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicants to the Page Program are required to be sponsored by a Member of Congress. Application materials can be obtained through Moran's office and should be returned by March 31. Interested students should call (202) 225-2715 for more information and a copy of the application.
