MORAN HIRES AARON POPELKA OF MUNDEN

Popelka to Join Moran for Republic County Tour Stop March 17

 

MUNDEN - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced that Aaron Popelka of Munden has joined his staff. Popelka will serve as a legislative assistant in Moran's Washington, D.C., office. Popelka will join Moran for his Republic County Tour stop in Cuba on Friday, March 17.

 

"Aaron will be an asset to my office with his great work ethic and legal background," Moran said. "I am pleased to have him working on behalf of Kansans." 

 

Popelka is a 1997 graduate of Belleville High School and a 2001 graduate of Kansas State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics with a minor in agronomy. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2004 with a concentrated program of study in agricultural law. While in law school, Popelka served as the executive editor of the Nebraska Law Review and was a member of the Student Bar Association. Prior to joining Moran's office, Popelka was an associate attorney for Leininger, Smith, Johnson, Baack, Placzek, Steele and Allen Law Firm in Grand Island, Neb.

 

"I am grateful to have this opportunity and look forward to assisting Congressman Moran with the many issues facing agriculture and rural Kansas," Popelka said.

 

As a legislative assistant, Popelka will handle agriculture and energy issues. His responsibilities will include meeting with Kansans and representatives from various associations, attending committee meetings, as well as researching, tracking and coordinating legislation.

 

Aaron is the son of Charles and Jean Popelka of Munden.
