Douglas Baier of Garden City Concludes Internship for Moran

GARDEN CITY - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced that Douglas Baier of Garden City has concluded a congressional internship in his Washington, D.C., office. Baier is a 2003 graduate of Holcomb High School.

"Internships allow students to learn how our government works by participating in the daily routine of a Congressional office," Moran said. "I was pleased to have Doug further his experience and work on behalf of Kansans."

Baier is a senior at Kansas State University, where he is pursuing a bachelor's in business administration with a concentration in human resource management and a minor in leadership studies. At K-State, he is the president of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, the vice president of Leadership Studies and Programs Ambassadors, and a member of the Interfraternity Council and Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity. Baier was a recipient of the College of Business Kay Meggers-Siemens Corporation Scholarship, the Phi Kappa Theta Foundation Award Scholarship, and the Kansas State University Achievement Scholarship, as well as being named to the College of Business Dean's List. He plans to begin law school in the fall of 2007.

"This was a great opportunity to learn hands on how our government works in Washington, D.C., while still being able to work for the people of Kansas." Baier said.

In the office, Baier assisted Congressman Moran with legislative and administrative duties on behalf of the people of Kansas.

Douglas is the son of Larry and Jovita Baier of Garden City.
