Moran Selects Will Ruder of Plainville for Internship

PLAINVILLE - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced that Will Ruder of Plainville is serving as an intern in his Hays district office. Ruder is a 2003 graduate of Plainville High School.

"Will's care for Kansans and understanding of issues important to the people of our state have made him a welcome addition to my office," Moran said.

Ruder is a senior at Kansas State University, where he is pursuing a bachelor's in history and political science with minors in leadership studies and American ethnic studies. At K-State, Ruder is involved in the Clio Society and is the membership committee chairman for Knights of Columbus Council #8511. He was a 2003 recipient of the Dane G. Hansen Leadership Scholarship. He plans to graduate from K-State in May 2007 and possibly pursue graduate school.

"The opportunity to learn about the coordination of government bodies involving key issues has made me more keenly aware of congressional activity," Ruder said. "This is a great opportunity to see how our system of government operates."

In the office, Ruder assists Congressman Moran with legislative and administrative duties on behalf of the people of Kansas.

Will is the son of John and Karla Ruder of Plainville.
