MORAN SELECTS JAMIE WINTER FOR INTERNSHIP

CONCORDIA - Congressman Jerry Moran today announced that Jamie Winter of Concordia is an intern in his Washington, D.C., office. Winter is a 2003 graduate of Concordia High School.

"I place a high value on the experiences that young people can receive by working in a congressional office," Moran said. "I am happy to have Jamie working on behalf of Kansans."

Winter is a junior at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, where she is studying history and criminal justice. At Kansas Wesleyan, she is a student ambassador and is involved in the History Club, College Republicans and Student Government Association. Winter was a recipient of a Thrivent Financial for Lutherans scholarship and has been named to the honor roll three semesters. She will graduate next May and plans to continue her education in law school or graduate school.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity," Winter said. "Working for Congressman Moran is challenging me to become more politically aware by placing me in the middle of the inner workings of our government."

In the office, Winter will assist Congressman Moran with legislative and administrative duties on behalf of the people of Kansas' First Congressional District.

Jamie is the daughter of Jim and Kathie Winter of Concordia.
