Moran Names 2006 Service Academy Selection Board Interviews of U.S. Service Academy Candidates Planned for November 18
FT. RILEY - Congressman Jerry Moran announced today the 2006 First District Service Academy Selection Board. The 16-member board reviews applications and interviews candidates who are applying for admission to U.S. Service Academies. These include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
"Service Academies train our country's future military leaders, and I am honored to be a part of the nomination process," Moran said. "The members of the Selection Committee are community leaders from across Kansas who take a great interest in seeing our students succeed. I appreciate their willingness to serve and value their input in these important selections."
The board will meet to interview candidates on Saturday, November 18, at Riley's Conference Center at Ft. Riley. Following interviews, the board will make recommendations to Moran for his final decision.
