House Page Program

The U.S. House of Representatives' Page Program offers high school juniors the unique opportunity to experience Congress in action and assist with official House duties. Pages work as a team delivering materials to Members' offices, preparing the House Floor for sessions and answering phones in the Members' Cloakroom. As a Page, students are in a rare position to learn first-hand about the House of Representatives' role in lawmaking.

In addition to working for the House of Representatives, Pages also further their education by taking classes in the core disciplines. Classes are held in the historic Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress, across the street from the United States Capitol. Pages live together in the House Page Residence Hall.

Students wishing to be a Page must be in their junior year of high school and have at least a 3.0 GPA on four major courses, no electives. Students must also be at least 16 years old by the beginning of the Page term. There are no exceptions to the academic or age requirements.

While there are over 400 Members of Congress wishing to recommend a young person for a Page position, there are only about 66 Page positions available. All students must be sponsored by a Member of Congress to become a Page. If you are interested in becoming a Page, please contact Jason Wiens in my Washington, D.C., office at 202-225-2715 for more information.
