BUYER STATEMENT ON RUMSFELD RESIGNATION
   
 
Washington, D.C.—In the wake of the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld, Congressman Steve Buyer (IN-04) makes the following statement:

 “Secretary Rumsfeld has led our military through the trials of war while also facing the challenges to modernize our forces to be lighter and more lethal. Because our enemy lurks in the shadows it is understandable why the President has turned to Robert Gates, from the intelligence community, to lead the Pentagon.”
