COMMITTEE ON INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS:

Senior Member
Oversees and sets United States Policy towards other nations around the world.

• Ranking Democrat, Subcommittee On the Middle East and Central Asia
  Oversight of U.S. policy towards the nations of the Middle East and Central Asia.
• Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific
  Examines U.S. policy toward countries in Asia and the Pacific.

COMMITTEE ON FINANCIAL SERVICES:

Jurisdiction over financial institutions, housing programs, disaster insurance and monetary policy.

• Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government-Sponsored Enterprises
  Oversight on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the nation's financial exchanges, insurance (except for health insurance), Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the Federal Home Loan Banks.
• Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit
  Regulates all types of financial institutions and companies that lend consumer credit as well as overseeing federal deposit insurance and financial holding companies.
