Seniors
I take my responsibilities of representing older Pennsylvanians very seriously. I particularly enjoy meeting with seniors across the Commonwealth to hear firsthand how I can better serve their needs. I understand that the aging process can place unique challenges on both the individual and their family. I will continue to work with my colleagues on the Senate Special Committee on Aging and the Senate Finance Committee to create an optimal environment for seniors in the Commonwealth. As America's population continues to age, we will be faced with new challenges in planning for the nation's healthcare and pension systems. As we strengthen and improve these systems, we must balance today's seniors' needs with the needs of tomorrow's seniors. This is especially true in Pennsylvania, where we have one of the oldest populations in the country. I will continue to work to ensure that Medicare provides beneficiaries with prevention-oriented care and innovative 21st century treatments.
