Washington, D.C. – Congressman Geoff Davis recently received the National Association of Manufacturers’ Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. This award recognizes Congressman Davis’ advocacy in Congress for policies that create jobs and stimulate growth in the 4th Congressional District.
“Davis’ voting record shows a true understanding of the key role manufacturing plays in the strength of our economy and our quality of life,” NAM President John Engler said. “Taken together, these key votes are critical to boosting American competitiveness, job creation and prosperity for working Americans. I thank Representative Davis for his steady dedication to the economic growth agenda of the manufacturing community.
“All too often in the political arena, flashy rhetoric is drowned out by sincere action,” Engler continued. “This NAM Award is the only real litmus test for our members, sorting out the true allies of manufacturing by their votes in support of a pro-growth, pro-jobs manufacturing economy.”
Congressman Geoff Davis said, “I am pleased to have received this award. Supporting the manufacturing industry, which supplies thousands of jobs in the Commonwealth, is a top priority for me. I will continue to work in Congress to support policies that lessen our dependence on foreign oil and promote growth and development through lower taxes.”
NAM presented their Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence to legislators who attained a 70 percent or higher voting record. Congressman Davis’ voting record, on issues including energy supply, legal reform, trade and tax policy, was 100 percent.
