Internships
Internship Opportunities

 Length of Internship
Generally I request that the intern be available to work in my office for a two month period. My office will work with students who need to make special arrangements. Internships are available for Summer, Fall, and Spring.

Internship Locations
Internships are offered in my Washington, DC office as well as my Englewood, Loveland, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Grand Junction, Colorado offices.

Accommodations for D.C. Interns
There are several student residences in the Washington area where interns may stay for a reduced price, although be advised that Washington, D.C. is an expensive place to live.

Requirements
Any person enrolled in a four or two year college or university is eligible. Only Juniors or Seniors in good academic standing should apply. All applications will be reviewed with respect to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Laws.

Letters of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation from former professors or employers are also required. Due to substantial delays in mail delivery, it is strongly recommended these letters be faxed rather than mailed. You may fax them to (202) 224-6471.

Academic Credit
It is the intern’s responsibility to arrange their academic credit with their respective schools.

Compensation
U.S. Senate rules do not permit interns working in state offices to be compensated. Your efforts are on a voluntary basis only.

Application Process
Summer Internship: March 30
Fall Internship: July 30
Spring Internship: November 30

Office Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST., Monday through Friday. You will be asked to choose the hours which best fit your schedule. A minimum of 10 hours per week is required.
