Interns are accepted on a year-round basis in Washington, D.C. and in my district offices in Napa, Fort Bragg, Woodland and Eureka. An internship offers a unique opportunity to witness and experience first-hand the legislative process as well as assist in helping Mike represent the 1st District of California.
If you are interested in becoming an intern, please send a a resume and cover letter, indicating the dates and times your are available, to the office in which you would like to intern. Although there is not a formal deadline, please keep in mind that summer internships in my Washington, D.C. office fill quickly. All internships are unpaid, however, arrangements can be made for students to receive credit for their internship through their school or university.
General intern responsibilities include:
Greeting Constituents and Answering telephones
Responding to constituent requests and letters
Attending Congressional hearings
Assisting with legislative research
Assisting with constituent casework (District Offices)
