Information about my website

This website is my official site as an United States Senator and adheres to all policies established by the U.S. Senate Internet Services Usage Rules And Policies.

While I cannot, of course, guarantee the security of the Internet connection you are using, I can assure you that any information collected on or by my website is kept completely confidential, as set forth in my Privacy Policy. For information about the anonymous collection of tracking and traffic data by Senate websites in general, please access the U.S. Senate Privacy Policy.

As much as possible, the information presented on my website is accessible to visitors with disabilities, complying with section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I want all interested citizens to be able to access the content provided on my website and appreciate any feedback or suggestions for improvements.

This website's primary goal is to serve Idahoans by providing current, accurate, and reliable information about my activities as one of Idaho's United States Senators, about the services my office provides, and about the proceedings of the United States Senate as a whole. In addition to the main content of my website, my office maintains two sub-sites targeted to specific audiences:

  • Spanish-language version: For a portion of our citizens in Idaho, english is a second language. To better their understanding of issues the Senate considers and legislative action taken, I offer a spanish version of my website. Designed as a complete site unto itself, each page on the spanish-version of my site has an active link to the related english-language page of my main website. Likewise, each page of my main site links to a related page within the spanish version.
  • Kids Club site: Children have a natural interest in their government and their nation's capital. My Kids Club website features my dog Tattie as a guide to both, offering educational material in an interesting and kid-safe format. As the Kids Club website grows, I invite the comments and suggestions of teachers and parents to help make this section of my site an educational resource and a fun destination for families exploring the world wide web together.

My website is best viewed with a standards-compliant browser with a display resolution of at least 800 x 600.

While most of the scripted content on my site uses programming running on the Senate server, some pages on my website use JavaScript and "pop-up" windows. If your computer has security measures enabled to restrict JavaScript and pop-ups, you may wish to add the senate.gov domain to your "safe" or "allowed sites" list.

Please contact me with any comments or feedback about the usability and function of my website.
