Visiting your nation's capital

As I walk through the halls of Congress, or stroll home after a challenging day on the Senate floor, or even drive past the monuments on my way through downtown, I continue to be awe-struck by the grandeur that is our Capital City. To know that great men and women of history, even our Founders, have walked these same halls, strolled these same avenues and driven these same streets sometimes overwhelms me.

I would encourage every American to visit Washington, DC at least once during his or her life. As your Senator, I can assist you in making arrangements for your visit. Many historic sites have special congressional tours which offer a great deal more insight than the general public tours. With enough advance notice of your visit, I may be able to obtain tickets to places like the Supreme Court or the National Archives for you. I would also enjoy the opportunity of showing you around where I work each day: The United States Capitol Building.

Advance Notice Required

When requesting congressional tours, the key is advance notice—I cannot stress this enough. There are limited spaces on these tours and they fill up very quickly, especially during the busy spring and summer months. I can never guarantee tickets, but am always willing to try to obtain them for you.
