WASHINGTON, DC – United States Senator John Sununu (R-NH) today (8/10) released the following statement regarding the terror plot, which targeted airliners bound for the United States from the United Kingdom.

“In the wake of the discovery of the terrorist plot targeted at innocent travelers bound for the United States, United Kingdom and other international law enforcement and intelligence authorities are working together with the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, and our intelligence agencies to protect the traveling public from the continuing threats posed by terrorists. Security officials here in the United States and abroad are to be commended for their diligent work in disrupting this latest plot.

"Travelers can do their part to help by arriving at the airport earlier than usual and alerting law enforcement or airline personnel should they notice anything suspicious. Equally important, we all must remain patient, cooperative, and flexible as we adjust to new security procedures and restrictions.”
